Normalcy steadily returning to Grange Hill High following grief counselling sessions after murder of 16yo student last week
Students and staff of the Grange Hill High School in Westmoreland are transitioning steadily to normalcy, following the murder of 16-year-old student Carson Barrett last week.
According to Principal, Trevine Donaldson-Lawrence counselling has been done.
Mrs. Donaldson-Lawrence told IRIE FM news that she was overwhelmed by the support offered to the school by an extensive team from the Education Ministry along with other stakeholders.
She noted that staff and students have been responding well to the grief sessions.
Last Thursday afternoon, Carson and a female student were attacked by gunmen on a motorcycle after they left the school’s sports day.
Both students sustained wounds and were taken to hospital, where Carson was pronounced dead.
The incident has been widely condemned.
