Normal operations are to resume at the Jamaica Information Service (JIS) following a small electrical fire at the agency yesterday.
JIS noted that the fire, which happened at around 11:00 A.M., started close to the Jamaica Public Service (JPS) metre on the exterior of the Annex building.
JIS said emergency operations were activated, staff were safely evacuated, and the fire was quickly contained.
The agency also noted that firefighters and the police responded to the incident, and a full assessment was carried out by the JPS.
JIS reported no injury but noted that the damaged electrical panel box will have to be repaired.
