IRIE FM understands there is no truth to a rumour making the rounds on social media that Reggae singer Jah Cure has been released from a Netherlands prison.

It is unclear where the rumour started, but according to IRIE FM sources, his case is set for June 18, 2025. At this hearing, the Judge will determine whether Dutch Prosecutors can pursue an attempted murder charge against him, after he was acquitted of that charge.

Jah Cure who has been in detention in Amsterdam was convicted in March 2022 for the lesser charge of attempted manslaughter and sentenced to 6 years in prison.

The conviction stems from the October 2021 stabbing of a Dutch concert promoter over unpaid performance fees.
