No motive yet established for St. Thomas double murder
The police have not yet established a motive for the killing of two people along the Llyodsville main road in St. Thomas, yesterday (July 8).
Dead are 32-year-old taxi operator Andre Mullings of Newlands and 18-year-old national footballer Jedine Carr of Heartease, both in the parish.
Reports from the police are that at about 4:45pm, Carr was a passenger in a taxi being operated by Mullings along the Lloydsville main road, when two men boarded the vehicle.
The men reportedly opened fire on Mullings and Carr, hitting them.
The wounded persons were taken to hospital where they were pronounced dead.
Head of the St. Thomas Police Division, Superintendent Allison Byfield, told Irie Fm News that Mullings was before the court on charges of sexual assault.
She added that Mullings was recently involved in altercations with some persons in the parish.
Superintendent Byfield said the police are seeking several persons to question in relation to the incident.
