There is no anomaly in the calculation of wages for public school teachers, under the restructured compensation system.

Finance Minister Dr Nigel Clarke explained that the issue, is instead, related to discrepancies in conversion.

He was responding to questions from his opposition counterpart, Julian Robinson, in parliament on Wednesday.

Dr Clarke said the conversion discrepancy issues, are being addressed.

The Jamaica Teachers Association (JTA) has maintained that many teachers are not getting their correct salary, and had submitted documents to support claims.

JTA President La Sonja Harrison recently called on the government to address the issues, adding that teachers feel undervalued and demotivated.
