Nicole Aiken Pinnock named to the Coaching Staff of National Netball Programme
Former Sunshine girl Nicole Aiken Pinnock and the experienced Phyllis Thompson are the latest additions by local governing body……Netball Jamaica….to its pool of coaches for the national netball Program.
Aiken-Pinnock, who started playing international representative netball in 2004, made her national senior debut for the Jamaica national team at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne.
Before retiring in 2018, the 37-year-old was part of the Sunshine girls team that won 2 bronze medals at the Commonwealth Games and a silver and bronze at the 2009 and 2010 world Fast5 Netball championships in Manchester and Liverpool.
She currently serves as Director of Sports at the Moneague College.
Aiken-Pinnock speaking with Irie Fm sports says the appointment is a step in the right direction.
Thompson meanwhile is a seasoned coach who led the Manchester spurs to the 2023 Seprod Elite Netball league title.
First Vice president of Netball Jamaica, Simone Forbes in a statement said they were delighted to welcome both ladies to the coaching team……..adding their combined experience, passion for the sport, and commitment to excellence will undoubtedly contribute to the ongoing success of the program.
