New Testament Church of God in Montego-Bay says no to use of security services after woman killed on church grounds

The pastor of the New Testament Church of God in Montego-Bay, St. James says the church will not use security services, following last week’s deadly gun attack.

The comment from Bishop Ruel  Robinson follows a suggestion by General Secretary of the Jamaica Council of Churches  Reverend Newton Dixon, that churches that can afford it, should utilize the services of security guards.

Bishop Robinson says the church will continue to pray for God’s protection.

He states that  the incident will not impact services, noting that fasting and prayer service will be held this week. The shooting occurred  while a similar service was underway last Wednesday.

Bishop Robinson said the perpetrators disrespected god, adding that the incident is an attack on the church as a whole.

He was speaking at yesterday’s service.
