New Road Traffic regulations stipulate that every motor cycle being sold or purchased must include helmet
Under the New Road Traffic Regulations, every motor cycle being sold or purchased will be required to include a helmet.
The regulations were tabled in Parliament today (July 5).
They come in the wake of rising concern about motor vehicle accidents and fatalities, especially in Westmoreland which statistically has a high rate of bike crashes.
Transport Minister Audley Shaw noted that the helmet, is one aspect of new safety considerations covered by the regulations, as it relates to protective gear.
The regulations also stipulate that motor vehicles have air bags.
