New Reggae Boys head Coach Steve Mclaren offcially unveiled
The New Reggae Boy head Coach Steve Mclaren was today offcially unveiled .
McClaren says he became interested in coaching the national senior men’s football team based on a number of factors including talent and potential.
The former Manchester Uuited coach who was appointed by the JFF to replace Icelandic coach Heimir Hallgrimson will take up a 2 year contract during which he will oversee Jamaica’s qualification process for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup in the United States, Mexico and Canada.
Speaking today at his first official press conference, the 63 year old revealed he had become aware of Jamaica’s potential based on a previous role at world governing body of football (FIFA).
He also said he was impressed by the development that had taken place in the country over the last few years.
His first assignment will be Jamaica’s Concacaf Nations League encounter against Cuba on September 6 at the National Stadium.
