New Reggae Boys coach Steve Mclaren to be unveiled tomorrow

Senior reggae boys new head coach Steve Mclaren will be unveiled tomorrow morning by the Jamaica Football Federation at press conference at the Federation’s headquarters in New Kingston .

The Board of Directors of the Jamaica Football Federation signed off Mclaren’s appointment last week,  after the post left vacant following the sudden resignation of Hemir Hallgrimson, at the end of the Reggae boys disastrous run in the Copa America Football tournament in the United States back in June.

JFF boss Michael Ricketts says he is looking forward to a fruitful relationship with Mclaren.

In the meantime, Mclaren a who led middlesbrough to the 2004 League Cup title and the 2006 UEFA Cup final, returned to Manchester United in 2022 where he has worked as assistant to Eric Ten Hag.

At the international level Mcclaren had a brief stint in charge of England from 2006 to 2007, a reign that ended abruptly after failing to qualify for Euro 2008.

Mcclaren’s first assignment will be the Reggae Boyz Concacaf Nations League game against Caribbean neighbours Cuba on September 6 at the National Stadium
