New $12M Welcome to Negril sign to boost visitor attraction
The Tourism Ministry has indicated that a new 12 million dollar Welcome to Negril sign, will help to boost visitor attraction to the popular western end resort town.
Portfolio Minister Edmund Bartlett along with other stakeholders in the sector, participated in an unveiling ceremony, yesterday (September 9).
The multi million dollar sign features a lay-by and walkway, retaining wall, landscaping, and the fabrication of letters in red, green, and gold, reflecting the ‘vibe’ of Negril.
It comes with solar lighting, which helps with its visibility at nights, and its sustainability.
Mr. Bartlett said the sign will also act as a catalyst to attract greater foot traffic to the area.
He said the sign aptly represents the welcoming nature of the residents of the resort town.
