Netball Jamaica names 15-member squad for Upcoming Netball World Cup
Star goal-shooter Jhaniele Fowler is among 7 Australian based players named in a formidable 15-member squad that will represent Jamaica at the Upcoming Netball World Cup in Cape-Town South Africa from July 28 to August 6
Fowler, who plays for the west coast fever, on the weekend became the first player in Suncorp Super Netball league history to score 5000 goals.
She is joined by Shimona Nelson and Jodi-Ann Ward of the collingwood Magpies, Romelda Aiken-George (NSW Swifts), Kadie-Ann Dehaney (Sunshine Coast Lightning) and Shamera Sterling and Latanya Wilson who are both members of the Adelaide Thunderbirds.
Completing the squad are Shanice Beckford, Rebekah Robinson, Nicole Dixon-Rochester, Crystal Plummer, Abigale Sutherland, Adean Thomas, Kimone Shaw and Khadijah Williams.
The Connie Francis coached Sunshine Girls have been drawn in group ‘C’ alongside tournament hosts South Africa, Wales and Sri lanka.
They open their campaign against Sri Lanka on July 28.
