NCB introduces audio guidance feature on select ABMs islandwide
The National Commercial Bank (NCB) has introduced an audio guidance feature on select Automated Banking Machines (ABMs) to enhance accessibility and independence for persons with visual impairment.
The feature has been installed on 40 ABMs across the country and was implemented through collaboration with the Jamaica Society for the Blind.
The new feature allows customers who are blind, visually impaired or face challenges with reading, to complete transactions, such as withdrawals, balance enquiries and deposits, on their own.
Head of Branch Sales at NCB Kevin Ingram says accessibility matters in banking.
He adds that the audio guidance feature is the latest in a series of efforts to make banking accessible to all members of the society.
Meantime, Labour and Social Security Minister Pearnel Charles Jnr commended the step taken by NCB, describing it as innovation in action.
