NBA twin siblings Amen and Ausar Thompson have confirmed that they are energized and opened to represent Jamaica at the international level.
This confirmation coming out a press briefing on Sunday morning organized by the Jamaica Basketball Association and the Bob and Rita Marley Foundation, at the Spanish Court Hotel , where both players made it clear that they are now advancing the process of securing Jamaican citizenship which they qualify for through their father.
Amen told Irie Fm Sports that the global achievement of Usain Bolt and Yohan Blake were among the pulling force to join the Jamaican team.
Amen, was named in the NBA’s all-defensive first team after a standout season with the Houston Rockets, and his brother Ausar, helped the Detroit Pistons to their first playoff appearance in six years .
Meanwhile, JABA’s president Paulton Gordon says while the process to secure the passports for both brothers is not yet finalized, he is energized by the interest of the NBA and European players to wear the national colours.
