Nation’s leaders call for resilience, unity and a return to core values on Heroes Day
As Jamaicans observe national heroes day today, prime minister Dr. Andrew Holness and Opposition Leader Mark Golding have issued separate calls to honour the legacy of the nation’s heroes through unity, resilience and a return to core values.
In his address, Dr. Holness called on the nation to embrace the qualities of discipline, hard work, respect and love for one another.
The Prime Minister described these qualities as central to the legacy of Jamaica’s national heroes.
He also urged the public to exercise caution on the roads, during the day’s celebrations.
Meanwhile, Opposition Leader Mark Golding offered a message centred on resilience and unity.
He encouraged Jamaicans to remain steadfast in the face of challenges and to draw inspiration from the nation’s past.
