National assault on gangs to be intensified following launch of inter-agency forum to enhance coordination of security forces
The national assault on gangs is to be intensified in the coming weeks.
This, following the launch of an inter-agency operations forum under the joint anti-gang task force, to enhance coordination between the nation’s security forces, as they work to dismantle gangs.
The forum will be co-chaired by Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) in charge of strategic operations, Warren Clarke, and the Jamaica Defence Force’s Colonel Dameon Creary.
It will serve as a central point for planning, intelligence sharing, and operational coordination, across the country.
Co-chair DCP Clarke said the initiative, is part of a broader strategy to eliminate violent gangs.
He added that the forum should lead to improved visibility of the security forces islandwide.
