Naki Wailer calls for probe into the disappearance of Bunny Wailer’s wife, Sister Jean
Musician Naki Wailer is five years later, still looking for information leading to justice for the disappearance of Jean Watt more popularly called Sister Jean.
Reflecting on the disappearance of his late father’s spouse, Naki says it is difficult to wake up to the reality that the woman partially responsible for moulding him into the man he is today has been missing for five years.
Still searching for answers, the Junior Wailer accompanied by placard bearing friends and family, yesterday May 26 staged a peaceful protest outside the offices of the Criminal Investigative Branch of the JCF, calling for a probe into a case that has seemingly gone cold.
In a Music News interview earlier today, Naki expressed the need for a probe into Sister Jean’s disappearance and the family’s wish for closure.
Jean Watt, affectionately called Sister Jean, was the common law wife of Reggae pioneer Bunny Wailer for 55 years. Naki credits her for playing an integral role in the success of his father’s career. She was last seen on May 23, 2020, in the Washington Gardens area of Kingston 20. She was 70 years old at the time of her disappearance and living with dementia.
