NAJ yet to receive communication from some regional health authorities about EHW policy

The Nurses Association of Jamaica (NAJ) says it has not yet received communication from any of the concerned regional health authorities about the non-implementation of the Extra Hours Worked policy.

The policy took effect in August last year and was expected to be implemented in March, with nurses being paid this month.

The NAJ said the timeline for the payments were discussed in February.

On Friday the NAJ indicated that its members in some health regions and public healthcare facilities had not been paid.

Speaking with Irie Fm News this afternoon, NAJ president Dawn Marie Richards said the association has still not received any form of communication from the health authorities as to the reason for the nonpayment.

She said it is in the association’s intention to make contact with the health authorities.
