NAJ expresses disappointment over non-implementation of Extra Hours Worked policy
The Nurses Association of Jamaica, (NAJ) has expressed disappointment over the non-implementation of the Extra Hours Worked policy, by some health region and public healthcare facilities.
The policy took effect in August last year.
The NAJ said further discussions with the government would have led to an implementation date of March 2025.
However, speaking to Irie Fm News this morning, NAJ President Dawn Marie Richards noted that the implementation date has not been effected in some areas, namely South East Regional Health Authority, parts of the Southern Regional Health Authority, the University Hospital of the West Indies and the Bellevue Hospital.
She said the association has had no communication from these authorities as to the reason for the non-implementation.
She said the nurses are militant and payment must be made at this time.
