Naggoe Head Primary School is the Insports/National Primary Schools Athletics Champion
Naggoe Head Primary School crowned themselves champions of the Insports/National Primary Schools Athletics Championship which ended earlier this afternoon at the National Stadium.
On a day where 11 records were broken, Naggoe Head the Central Champions stamped their class after amassing a whopping 196 points, to dethrone Lysson’s who had to settle for second with 170 and a half, while Greater Portmore was third on 96.
The top five is completed by Spanish Town on 82 and St John’s on 76. 5
The first record to go on the day was in the high jump open for boys final, where Roshane Lindsay of John Mills and Perez Pearson the head boy and team captain of St John’s shared the gold after both cleared the new mark at 1.58 metres.
Still in the field nickholet brown of st john’s primary cut the sand in a record 4.66 metres to win the gold in the girls open long jump final.
In select results south borough’s star class 1 sprinter Kashmar Gunther who took gold in the 100 and the 200 metres, returned to anchor his team to a record 1 minute 44.60 seconds to snatch gold in the boys open 4×200 metres relay.
Naggoe head took the girls equivalent , also in a meet record 1 minute 48.17 seconds.
