Murder tally nearing 400 mark
The number of people killed in the country since the start of the year is nearing 400.
This as at Sunday April 23, 388 murders were recorded.
According to the Jamaica Constabulary Force, this is 76 fewer than the 464 recorded in the corresponding period last year.
St. James recorded the highest number of murders with 52, followed by Clarendon with 37.
Meanwhile, there were also declines in rapes, robberies, and break-ins.
Cases of rape declined by 70 from 165 to 95.
Robberies went down by 86, from 292, to 206, while break-ins decreased by 27, from 308, to 281.
