MP Floyd Green calls on OUR to help solve issue with JPS and NWC, which is affecting residents
Member of Parliament for South West St. Elizabeth, Floyd Green has called on the Office of the Utilities Regulation OUR to help resolve, what he says is a joint issue with the Jamaica Public Service (JPS) and the National Water Commission (NWC).
Mr Green explains that for years, one or more water pumps in his constituency stopped working, leaving residents seriously disadvantaged.
According to Mr. Green, whenever he questions NWC about the matter, the water company lays the blame on JPS.
Noting that the issue happens almost every week, Mr. Green says, it’s time the OUR intervenes to address the situation.
Responding to the concern, JPS’s’ Operations Manager, Detommie Fuller says the power company has embarked on a maintenance programme which aims to reduce outages of the NWC pumps across the island.
