MP Crawford concerned about crime surge in Manchester
Member of Parliament for Manchester Central Rhoda Crawford says she sympathizes with citizens who are concerned over the recent upsurge of violence in the parish.
In the past week, five people were killed and five others wounded in separate incidents in the parish.
The most recent murder was committed on Monday in Knockpatrick.
Following the incident, Councillor of the Knockpatrick Division Karl Smith expressed concern and called on persons with information to speak with the police.
Meanwhile, speaking to reporters, MP Crawford said she too is taken aback and concerned about the number of killings.
She said in response, police presence has been bolstered with support from the government.
