Mount Pleseant Academy secures spot in the CFU Club Shiled final

CONCACAF Caribbean champions Mount Pleasant Academy have earned the right to defend their title after a commanding 3-1 victory over Suriname’s SV Robinhood in the CFU Club Shield semi-final at the Ato Boldon Stadium in Trinidad.

The win sends the St. Ann-based club into Sunday’s final and also secures their place in the 2026 CONCACAF Caribbean Cup.

New signing Travone Reid opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 32nd minute before Jashaun Anglin doubled Mount Pleasant’s advantage in the 57th minute.

SV Robinhood grabbed a stoppage-time consolation goal, but it was not enough to prevent Mount Pleasant from advancing.

With the victory, Mount Pleasant joins Jamaica Premier League champions Portmore United and runners-up Cavalier as Jamaica’s representatives in the 2026 CONCACAF Caribbean Cup.

It marks the first time since 2024 that three Jamaican clubs will compete in the regional competition.

Mount Pleasant will face either Metropolitan of Puerto Rico or Delfines del Este of the Dominican Republic in Sunday’s final, which kicks off at 3:00 p.m. Jamaica time.

A victory on Sunday would place Mount Pleasant in Group B of the 2026 CONCACAF Caribbean Cup alongside Cavalier, Portmore United, Cibao FC and Salcedo FC.
