Mount Pleasant celebrating first Jamaica Premier league title
Mount Pleasant are this morning still in a celebratory mood having won their maiden Jamaica Premier league title last night.
The historic feat was achieved after they carved out a 2-1 win over Cavalier in the final which was played in front of a Bumper Crowd at Sabina Park.
Suella Mcalla led the way hitting the back of the net twice……first in the 8th minute of play with his second coming in the 89th after Colin Anderson had earlier netted a league-best 20th goal of the season in the 83rd minute to draw Cavalier level.
Victorious coach Theodore ‘tappa’ whitmore was elated with the outcome.and also lauded the character and fighting spirit shown by his players
Victory for Mount Pleasant means the Jamaica Premier League title for the first time resides in the parish of St. Ann.
Meanwhile, preliminary round winners Arnett Gardens claimed third place after beating Harbour View one-nil.
