Motorists to receive electronic tickets soon
Motorists who breach traffic regulations will soon get their tickets electronically, as government moves ahead with plans to implement an electronic traffic monitoring system.
Transport Minister Audley Shaw noted that, even though the surveillance system is not yet in place, provisions for this feature have been included in the new road traffic regulations.
The regulations were brought to parliament, and passed, on Tuesday.
Mr Shaw said adjustments will be made to the regulations, as necessary.
A suggestion has been made for the Jamaica Eye System to be expanded to also do traffic management.
