More funding needed to rescue youth from gangs – Chang
National Security Minister Dr. Horace Chang says there is a need for much more commitment and funding to rescue Jamaican youth from gangs.
He made the statement at the St. James Child and Adolescent Wellness Centre yesterday.
Dr. Chang said greater partnership with the private sector and non-governmental organizations is also needed.
Dr. Chang said rescuing the youth from gangs is a key part of the government’s efforts to reduce crime and violence.
He added that other areas of the government’s response include legislation dealing with killers and murderers, and financing.
