MOCA joins FID in island-wide operation across 17 locations
The Major Organised Crime and Anti-Corruption Agency (MOCA) has confirmed its involvement in a joint operation with the Financial Investigation Division (FID) across 17 locations island-wide.
In a release this morning, MOCA stated that personnel from the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) and the police are also participating in the operation, which covers areas in Kingston, St. Catherine and Westmoreland.
The operation is focused on executing search warrants as part of an ongoing investigation into serious organized crime.
According to Major Basil Jarrett, Director of Communications at MOCA, the agency cannot provide further details at this time due to the sensitive nature of the investigation.
Major Jarrett reassured residents that there is no need for undue concern over the presence of law enforcement officers in their communities, as the operation will adhere to MOCA’s core values of professionalism, accountability and integrity.
