Mobay United returns to the summit of JPL with victory over Treasure Beach
Mobay United returned to the top of the Wray and Nephew Jamaica Premier League after a 2-1 triumph over Treasure Beach on match day 15.
Dwight Merrick and Deonjay Brown were on the scoresheet for Mobay United, while Tommy Lawrence scored for Treasure Beach.
Mobay United move up to 28 points with their 9th win of the season.
In the meantime Racing United slippped to second after they were held to a goaless draw by Waterhouse who drops out of the top six.
This while Chapelton Maroons climbs into the playoff group after they eked out a 2-1 win over Harbour View to move to 18 points.
Zhaine Pinnock with an early strike in the 2nd minute, sent Chapelton into the lead, but Rohan Brown struck the equaliser on 65 minutes, Sean Leighton found the winner for Chapelton Maroons in the 85th minute .
Caribbean champions mount pleasant had to settle for a goaless draw with Molynes United and remain 4th on 23 points.
Meanwhile 3rd place Portmore United will do battle with 8th place Tivoli Gardens in the opening game of the Monday Night double-header at the Tony Spalding Sports complex at 5 ‘O clock
This will be followed at 7.30 by the feature encounter between defending champions Cavalier who sits in 5th place on 22 points and 12th place Arnett Gardens on 13 points.
