Minister of Environment and Climate Change says emergency management teams on full alert
As Jamaica remains under a tropical storm watch, the country’s emergency management teams are on full alert.
The assurance was given by Minister of Environment and Climate Change Matthew Samuda in parliament this afternoon.
He said the island’s 8 hundred and 81 shelters will be made available as the need arises.
The Minister said the national response team was set to meet at 3:30 PM today to evaluate the situation and the next steps.
Mr. Samuda urged citizens, particularly those in flood-prone and low-lying areas, to remain attentive to official advisories.
He stressed that Jamaica must prepare for the worst.
