Education Minister, Dr. Dana Morris Dixon is emphasizing the crucial role of God and the church in the nation’s schools.

She stressed that children need to know God stating that it is vital for his presence to remain in classrooms, where students and teachers can be strengthened and protected.

She pointed out that children are being targeted by dark forces and now more than ever, the church should help to introduce and sustain God’s presence in education.

Her statement came as the education sector observed World Teachers’ Day.

She was speaking at a church service hosted by the Jamaica Tertiary Education Commission (J-TEC), under the theme “Recasting Teaching as a Collaborative Profession.”
