Miami street renamed in honor of legendary Reggae Group Inner Circle

Legendary Reggae Band Inner Circle were this week honored after a Miami neighbourhood opted to rename one of its streets in honor of the group.

On Tuesday, the Miami-Dade County Commission approved the item proposed by District 3 Commissioner Keon Hardemon.

According to the international media, the significant move highlights the profound impact Inner Circle has had on the local community, as well as their influence on the global music scene.

Inner Circle, best known for their hit songs “Bad Boys” and “Sweat (A La La La La Long)”, among others, is said to have not only brought reggae music to the forefront but has also been a pillar of support within the Miami community.

The band, originally formed in Jamaica in 1968, relocated to Miami and has since become a key part of the city’s cultural fabric.

City officials, fans, and members of the band were among those in attendance at the renaming ceremony.

The international media reports that as the new street sign was unveiled, there was a palpable sense of pride and celebration in the air with the renamed street now standing as a lasting testament to Inner Circle’s enduring legacy.

The street name “Bad Boys Bad Boys” will be incorporated into the Liberty City area along NW 71st Street and 18th Avenue.
