Public sector medical consultants are at this hour meeting to discuss the outcome of an earlier meeting with the labour ministry.

The doctors are expected to decide their next move at this second meeting, based on this morning’s discussions with the ministry.

They have been taking industrial action since yesterday, resulting in the cancellation or postponement of some services at health facilities.

The Association of Government Medical Consultants had indicated that the doctors are upset over the delay in payment of their retroactive monies.
