Masicka’s EP Her Name Is Love has debuted at number one on the iTunes Top Reggae Albums Chart following its official release.

Released via Def Jam Recordings, the eight track project presents a sensual and intimate body of work centered on women, desire, and emotional connection.

In an interview with Okayplayer, Masicka explained that personal growth and life experiences influenced his evolving perspective on love. He shared that love is no longer about possession or control, but about understanding, respect, and consistency in how one shows up.

Masicka also addressed common stereotypes surrounding emotional expression among men from his culture, stating that while many are perceived as emotionally closed off, the reality is more complex. He noted that men feel deeply, even if they express love differently, and that the project aims to challenge those assumptions.

Her Name Is Love reflects the balance between strength and vulnerability, reinforcing the idea that emotional openness leads to greater self awareness rather than weakness.
