Marcell Gayle and Waterhouse part ways

Jamaica Premier League team Waterhouse is on the hunt for a new coach after long time head coach Marcell Gayle tendered his resignation on Monday.

It was not immediately clear, why Gayle who has been in charge since 2018 stepped down as coach from the former champions.

It has now been reported that  Argentine-born coach Javier Ainstein is set to replace  Gayle pending receipt of his work permit.

In the meantime, Gayle’s Assistant, Jermaine Miller, will take charge of the team until the work permit issued is sorted.

Ainstein, who previously guided Panamanian clubs Tauro FC, C.D. Plaza Amador, C.D. Universitario, and Panama City during his coaching career, holds an A licence from Conmebol  and a UEFA C’ licence from the Scottish Football Association.

Gayle’s resignation follows a poor run of form in which Waterhouse secured just one win from their last seven matches in the Jamaica Premier League (JPL).

In Gayle’s final game in charge last Sunday, the Drewsland based club recorded a 1-nil victory over hosts Montego Bay United.

Waterhouse have recorded four wins from 13 games this season and presently  occupies six spot in the Premier League standings on 15 points.
