Manhunt Underway for Man Accused of Chopping Two Elderly Women, Setting Home Ablaze in St. Ann

The police are searching for a man who allegedly chopped and wounded two elderly women before setting their home ablaze in Bamboo, St. Ann last evening.
Reports are that shortly after 9 p.m., the two women retired to bed when the suspect allegedly threw an object through a glass window, shattering it.
He then allegedly forced his way into the house, chopped both women in the face and set fire to the two-bedroom concrete house as well as a detached concrete structure beside it.
It is reported that residents helped to contain the blaze before it was later extinguished by the Fire Brigade.
The police were alerted and the elderly women were taken to the St. Ann’s Bay Regional Hospital where they were admitted in serious but stable condition.
