Manchester Police urges persons to desist from making prank calls regarding the whereabouts of Jayden Smith
The Manchester Police are urging members of the public to desist from making prank calls regarding the whereabouts of missing Manchester high student, Jayden Smith.
The 12-year-old boy has been missing since September 26.
He was last seen at home, wearing a khaki uniform and a pair of brown shoes.
He is of dark complexion, slim build and is approximately 5 feet tall.
Efforts to locate Jayden have been ongoing since he went missing.
Commanding Officer for the Manchester Police, Superintendent Carey Duncan said the prank calls are distressing to the family and may have far-reaching emotional effects.
Superintendent Duncan also addressed rumours surrounding the case noting that claims about why Jayden went missing and reports that he has been seen remain unconfirmed, at this time.
Meantime, the Police also implores Lawrence Sargeant, the father of 13-year-old Shantina Sargeant, to contact investigators as they believe he may be able to assist in advancing the investigation into the girl’s death.
Shantina’s mutilated and burnt body was discovered at the back of her home in Baillieston, on Monday, October 6.
Superintendent Duncan also appeals to members of the public to share any information that could assist by contacting the Christiana or Mandeville police stations.
He spoke on both cases yesterday at the Manchester Municipal Corporation’s General Meeting.
