Manchester Police say crime is not out of control in the parish
Head of the Manchester Police, Deputy Superintendent (DSP) Carey Duncan, has sought to allay the fears of residents in the parish regarding an increase in murders.
DSP Duncan notes that while murders are indeed up and he understands the concerns of citizens crime is not out of control in Manchester.
He also notes that all other categories of crime are down.
DSP Duncan says based on analysis, a large percentage of recent murders including those in the Knockpatrick and Christiana areas are interpersonal in nature.
He reiterates that more boots have been placed on the ground to reassure citizens of their safety and security.
