Manchester Police implement ban on parties in several communities
The Manchester Police have implemented a ban on entertainment events in several communities following a recent increase in crime and violence in the parish.
In recent weeks, there have been multiple murders and shooting incidents in various areas, which the police attribute to ongoing gang conflicts.
Speaking at a community meeting in Albion last evening, Zone Commander in Manchester, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Llamar Clarke stated that the ban is necessary to help curb crime.
He identified Albion as one of the areas where entertainment events are not permitted.
ASP Clarke reassured residents including party promoters that once the police deem it safe, the security measure will be re-evaluated.
He sought to explain to promoters the need to have strict security measures.
