A man was fatally shot by the police in an alleged confrontation in Davyton, Manchester this morning.

Dead is 41-year-old construction worker Andre Knight, otherwise called ‘Boxer’, of Davyton.  

Head of the Manchester police division deputy superintendent of police Carey Duncan, said lawmen executed a search warrant at a premises and were fired on by an armed man.

The Independent Commission of Investigations (Indecom) is probing the incident.
