Mayor of Mandeville Donovan Mitchell has warned that come next Tuesday, October 1, the Manchester Municipal Corporation will be clamping down on delinquent businesses.

He said a compliance unit, comprising personnel from tax administration, the municipal police and members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force, will be conducting assessments of businesses in the parish.

Mayor Mitchell noted that many business operators flout regulations and requirements, either deliberately or through ignorance.

Citing complaints about how some businesses operate, Mayor Mitchell said the enforcement of regulations is in keeping with maintaining public health and adherence to laws.
