A man who was facing multiple sexual offence charges was released today, after the complainant, a teenage girl, was taken into custody in relation to creating public mischief.

The man reportedly in his forties was accused by the 16-year-old girl who appeared in the St. Catherine Circuit Court court today.

She indicated she no longer wished to proceed with the matter.

The defendant’s attorney Sheldon Campbell explained that when the teen was asked why, she told the court that she loved him, but he didn’t love her back.

Following the court proceedings, no evidence was offered against the accused and the charges were dropped.

The girl was taken into custody.

It’s expected that she will be charged.
