A man is believed to have committed suicide, after he reportedly used his vehicle to mow down a woman and police officer in Mona, St. Andrew, this morning.

Dead is 44 year old Osbourne Sprowl, of Irish Town, in the parish.

The matter stemmed from an alleged domestic violence incident, involving Sprowl and the woman, in which the cop had intervened.

The injured woman and cop, remain hospitalized in stable condition.

Reports are that about 7 a-m, Sprowl drove the woman to a section of Mona, and threatened to harm her.

Head of the St. Andrew central police senior superintendent Marlon Nesbeth said the woman jumped from the vehicle, and when the officer tried to help her, Sprowl hit both of them with his car.

He said investigators later found Sprowl, hanging by a length of rope from a tree, at a premises in Beverly Hills.
