Man in custody over alleged voter intimidation in Morant Bay St.Thomas
Police in St.Thomas have arrested a man accused of voter intimidation during today’s by-election in Morant Bay, St Thomas.
Speaking to IRIE FM News this morning, Head of the St. Thomas Police, Superintendent Allison Byfield, said investigations are ongoing following the allegations.
She said that the police will continue to monitor polling stations to prevent voter intimidation and other incidents.
The Jamaica Labour Party’s Winston Downie and the People’s National Party’s Yvonne Rosemarie Shaw are contesting the election.
