A man has been taken into custody in relation to the death of a toddler in Golden Grove St. Ann, yesterday.

Dead is 1-year-old Aaliayah Michael of the community.

Reports indicate that around 8:30 a.m.,  the child’s stepfather was giving her a bath in a container of water.

It’s alleged that he then left her briefly to attend to something in the kitchen.

Upon returning to the bathroom after hearing a noise, he found Aaliayah lying face down in the water.

She was rushed to a nearby health center then later transferred to the hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

The St. Ann police told Irie FM News that a man has since been arrested in relation to the matter.
