A man has been hospitalized after he was beaten for allegedly attempting to steal cattle in Mandeville, Manchester this morning.

Reports are that at about 9:30 AM, the man was among a group of men seen with two cows believed to have been stolen.

He was chased and caught by residents who led him through Marshalls Pen onto the Winston Jones Highway, where he was tied to the cows and pulled several feet.

A traffic cop who responded to the incident rescued the man.

He was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The incident resulted in a pileup of traffic.

Eleven people have been arrested since the start of the year in relation to praedial larceny.
