The man accused of sexually assaulting and killing 9 year old Nikita Noel, in Hanover, 4 months ago, has pleaded guilty to the charges laid against him.

42 year old construction worker Omar Ggreen of Branberry Hill, Hanover pleaded guilty when he appeared before the Hanover circuit court, today.

Following the guilty pleas to murder and rape, senior deputy director of public prosecutions Andrea Martin Swaby withdrew the death penalty.

Green will be sentenced on July 31.

Reports are that in February, Nikita’s mother filed a missing person’s report, after the girl did not return home from school.

Residents and the police launched a search and the child’s body was found in bushes near to her home.

Following investigations, Green, who was reportedly the partner of the girl’s mother, was arrested and charged.

A post mortem report revealed that the child had been strangled.

Forensic evidence indicated that Green had also sexually assaulted the girl.
