Majah Hype claps back At Johnny Daley over comedy unity debate
Majah Hype has responded after fellow comedian Christopher Johnny Daley challenged his recent comments suggesting that unity among Caribbean comedians is lacking.
The issue arose following Majah Hype’s appearance on IRIE FM’s Road To Success with Kshema Francis, where he was asked whether Caribbean comedians could unite for a major roast event similar to Netflix’s recent Kevin Hart Roast featuring top US comedians.
After LEVELZwithKshema reposted the interview clip on Instagram, Johnny Daley entered the conversation, criticizing Majah Hype’s remarks. In the comments, Daley said he was tired of what he described as “propaganda and falsehood” surrounding claims of badmind and disunity within the comedy fraternity.

Notably, during the interview, Majah Hype had praised several Caribbean comedians, including Johnny Daley, Pretty Boi Floyd and Dufton Shepherd, while discussing the state of the comedy industry.
Majah Hype initially responded by asking whether Daley had listened to the full conversation or misunderstood his comments.
Daley fired back, saying he expected the response and insisting that many people could interpret Majah Hype’s statement negatively.

The exchange later spilled onto Instagram Live, where Majah Hype addressed the controversy and expressed frustration over the backlash.
Meanwhile, Johnny Daley has used the discussion to call for more opportunities and platforms for local comedians.
From comedy pioneers Oliver Samuels and Ity Ellis to contemporary acts such as Majah Hype, Road To Success has consistently provided a platform for comedians and actors to share their stories, challenges and achievements.
