Maggotty High mourns student killed in quadruple fatal crash in St. Elizabeth on Saturday

The Maggotty High School in St. Elizabeth is in mourning, following the tragic death of one of its students in a crash along the Font Hill main road in the parish on Saturday.

Dead is Grade 7 pupil, 12-year-old, Janelia Dunkley.

Three other females were killed in the incident.

They have been identified as 10-year-old Antwasia Glenziler, 17-year-old, Jonnessa Dunkley and 30-year-old, Jeneen Dawkins.

Reports indicate that around 5:30 p.m., all four were travelling in a Toyota voxy, when the vehicle collided with a freightliner truck.

All occupants were taken to hospital with multiple injuries and were later pronounced dead.

Principal of Maggotty High School, Sean Graham has expressed sadness at the tragedy.

Describing Janelia as a well-behaved student, Mr. Graham said the mood at the school is one of deep reflection.

He said the school will be providing support to Janelia’s parents during this difficult time.
