Local manufacturing company, McIntosh Bedding has announced its closure after 60 years.

Co-founder Donald McIntosh said challenges over the last decade intensified since the COVID pandemic and despite best efforts the company was left with no choice but to close.

Mr. McIntosh noted that the company was founded on a dream to give people a better way to sleep, and it has served the needs of clients in Jamaica and the wider Caribbean for six decades.

He said the decision to close was not an easy one, having had to deal with multi-lateral businesses since the early 1970s.

Mr. McIntosh expressed appreciation to business partners including four generations of staff, suppliers, customers and international partners who helped create brands that became household names over the years.
